Meet The Team
Ella, Amy, Jennifer and Matilda met whilst studying drama at The University of Manchester.
During our third year, we were involved in facilitating drama workshops with arts charities, including The Men's Room and TiPP (Theatre in Prisons and Probation). The workshop spaces broke down barriers and allowed a safe environment for participants and facilitators to learn, empathise and connect.
It was these incredibly poignant experiences that inspired the creation of Tie-Dye Drama. We wanted to continue using drama to provide our participants with tools to build a positive future for themselves.
Since 2014, Tie-Dye Drama has worked alongside charities and in schools with young people in Early Years, Primary, Secondary and SEN settings.
Tie-Dye Drama is young at heart. We pride ourselves on our energy and enthusiasm and this is our golden ticket when engaging even the most reluctant performer.
We love what we do, and we hope your students will too!
Current Creative Team
After Tie-Dye Drama had gained funding and run workshops in Sri Lanka, Ella gained qualified teacher status through the Teach First Scheme. She taught in primary and SEN schools across Birmingham and London. Ella went on to support young people and families as a Link Worker for West London Zone.
Ella decided that the midst of a pandemic would be a good time to delve back into a full time Tie-Dye Drama world. Constantly adapting and adjusting, she can currently be found playing socially distanced games, creating characters and unmuting participants on zoom calls.
She is committed to using drama as a tool to boost well-being.
