Just like tie-dye prints and patterns, Tie-dye Drama sessions are bold, vibrant and unique. No two Tie-Dye Drama workshops are ever the same, which is the beauty of working with young people in a range of contexts.
In all of our workshops, we start with games. We want our participants to be engaged and have fun.
We then "reflect, rehearse and respond".
As a group, we use mediums such as role-play, drawing and discussion to explore and reflect upon the workshop's theme. Collectively, we create a character who is similar to the group. From a safe space, the group is able to reflect on how the theme's situations and events might make our character feel.
We explore this character and their life further, using drama to rehearse various reactions to these events.
Next, we respond. We support our participants in creating performances based on the workshop content and forming their message.
We always ensure to end workshops with games and celebrations of all we have achieved.
